(Disclaimer: I really like the N800! Yet, I’m going to collect a few minor nits about Maemo and the N800 in this little series…)
While it’s wonderful that the N800 now supports BT keyboards out of the box, the BT settings are odd. You can easily make the BT icon disappear, and you have to dig deep into the control panel to make it reappear.

It would be nicer if the BT icon didn’t disappear, but just turned inactive/gray when bluetooth is off.
Totally agree with you on this one. Sometimes I try to connect to my BT DUN and get errors and am confused until I look and see… oh… BT is off
I agree with you too! It is not convenient at all.
I miss Mac OS X style in managing bluetooth config.
Besides, I suspect N800′s bluetooth compatibility.
I tried to pair a few bluetooth headsets (from 3rd parties) to my N800.
Though they found each other and actually did pairing, N800 didn’t recognize them as headsets. (It showed monitor icons for ther presence.)
Anyway, I found your blog by googling and just wanted to let you know that I really liked your report on N800.
